Brent Cross Brand Refresh
The large scale brand refresh of Brent Cross Shopping Centre was undertaken by Hatmet in partnership with Beyond Communications and Leadership & Management Ltd project managers. It was a large scale project with a value of £2.1m and a time scale of 26 weeks, involving detailed and complex work in all ten of the mall areas which make up Britain’s first purpose built shopping centre.
The work included fitting new lighting, both standard and emergency, throughout the centre, complete with a fully managed control system. Existing lights and surfaces were decorated to bring them in line with the rebrand and marble floor finishes and Glass Reinforced Gypsum (GRG) lighting troughs were fitted.
AS well as transforming the appearance of the centre, Hatmet maximised its’ ability to work efficiently, installing under-floor containment routes to house data, power and service systems and future-proofing MEP requirements in order to ensure that commercial potential could be realised as demand evolved.
By undertaking all of the work outside business hours, we were able to reduce the impact upon the trading conditions of the centre to an absolute minimum. By the time the project had been delivered in full, the experience of Brent Cross, for both shoppers and the centre’s 140 retail units and food outlets, had been transformed in a hugely positive manner.
