Aldgate House

The project was awarded to Hatmet and the challenging works involved cutting through pre-tensioned slabs and walls to open up and form new lift shafts and floors.  Situated in close proximity to Aldgate Underground Station and part of a 10500m2  fully occupied office above, Hatmet undertook the project to install a new glazed façade and structural alterations. This was to form a new glazed entrance to allow access to the basement and office areas within the building to allow additional revenue by the client to fitout the basement areas for recreational fitness company.

Hatmet undertook the works which involved new fire rated ducting modifications to the MEP services. A new lift shaft was formed to enable a lift to be installed from ground to basement levels and to allow future DDA access to the areas of the building not previously accessible to all.

The new soffits and glazed frontage was some 7m high with glazed panels almost 1.5 metric ton to allow more light into the building.

Designed by MCM and service consultants, ACIES, Hatmet delivered the project through Constructive PM for our client.
